You can sign in with your fingerprint or face ID instead of typing your password, using what is called a passkey.
Setting it up
- Go to Settings and select Add a passkey.
- Confirm with your device’s fingerprint, face unlock, or security key.
- That’s it — it takes about 30 seconds.
You can also sign in with a passkey directly from the login page, without entering your password first — look for the passkey option on the sign-in screen.
Where it works
Passkeys work wherever your browser and device support them — in practice, that generally means Face ID/Touch ID on iPhone, fingerprint/face unlock on Android, and Windows Hello/Touch ID on supported laptops. Exact availability depends on your specific device and browser, so it may not look identical on every setup.
Is it safe?
Yes. Your fingerprint or face scan is checked locally, on your own device — it’s never sent to our servers and we never store it. Only a secure key pair is used to confirm it’s you; the private half of that key never leaves your device.
Your password still works
Setting up a passkey is optional and doesn’t replace your password — it’s an additional way in. You can keep signing in with your password (or your linked Google/X/Discord account) at any time, and you’ll never be locked out because a passkey stopped working.
Managing your passkeys
- You can add more than one passkey (for example, one per device you use), up to 10 per account.
- Each one is named automatically (e.g., “iPhone,” “Windows device”) and can be renamed in Settings.
- You can remove a passkey at any time from Settings → Passkeys. If it’s your last one, you’ll need your password to sign in afterward — you won’t be locked out.
- Lost or replaced a device? Sign in with your password as usual, then remove the old passkey from Settings and add a new one.
